Knight Architects is a specialist mid-size design studio based in central London and Maidenhead Riverside. We work on extraordinary bridge and civil infrastructure projects across the globe, combining architecture, engineering, and urban design skills together in a single workspace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project teams internally and externally to coordinate project BIM requirements.
  • Be responsible for the production of 3D models and 2D drawings in a CAD environment and the provision of general arrangements, steelwork, substructure, parapet drawings and details from concept to construction stages.
  • Be responsible for the quality and conformity of the model and drawing delivered in relation to the information provided by the project lead.
  • Take ownership of confirming the validity and relevance of the information on which drawings are made.
  • Set up and manage the project data in 3D (topography, vertical and horizontal alignment) and ensure its accuracy and completeness throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Work under the supervision of the project lead to deliver the documents required for the study of the project.
  • Act as a liaison between project teams and external stakeholders to ensure the exchange of BIM data and information is seamless and effective.
  • Provide technical support to internal design teams on several projects simultaneously.
  • Assess the company's needs to inform the development of robust internal modelling and drawing standards.
  • Develop, implement and maintain CAD and/or BIM standards, guidelines and best practices for the company.
  • Monitor BIM technology advancements and recommend improvements to enhance the company’s CAD and BIM processes and standards.

Skills & Experience

  • Professional background in architecture or engineering, with an academic degree from an accredited university.
  • In-depth working knowledge of CAD/modelling software, ideally including Rhino + Grasshopper, and BIM-enabling software.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role working in an architectural/engineering production environment.
  • Capacity to understand work schedules and excellent time management to meet the agreed deadlines.
  • Excellent rigour, work methodology and high-quality standards.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Critical opinion and design understanding to question possible omissions, clashes, and structural principles.
  • Experience with BIM standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Additional languages such as German and French are a plus.
