Lilla Lidingö Bridge opens in Stockholm!
03 June 2024
The Lidingö Line has commenced operations on the Lilla Lidingö Bridge. The first regular tram ran on Sunday 26 May, from Larsberg over Lilla Lidingö. It was wonderful to see the public experience the momentous occasion of travelling from Larsberg to Ropsten using the new bridge. Following this, city representatives from Stockholm visited on Monday morning, marking a significant milestone for Lidingö residents and all travellers.
The 750m length bridge, designed by Knight Architects in collaboration with Sweco, is connected to the main urban areas with a 7.4m-wide segregated cycle and pedestrian deck with local widening at two generous balconies. The new bridge provides a more generous space for cyclists and pedestrians and a safe and reliable year-round crossing.
