Lilla Lidingöbron reaches milestone halfway point
28 June 2021
Construction of the 750m Lilla Lidingöbron tram, pedestrian and cycle crossing in Stockholm has reached the midway point. Designed by Knight Architects as a replacement bridge to connect the island of Lidingö to the main urban areas of the city, construction of the crossing has been steadily progressing throughout the past two years, despite the pandemic and every weather condition that Sweden threw at it!
The bridge is expected to open to pedestrians and cyclists in spring 2022 with the tramway following at the beginning of 2023, after which the Old Lidingö Bridge will be dismantled.
