Little Lidingö Bridge nears completion

With the completion and full opening of Lilla Lidingöbron very much in sight, 'farewell tours' aboard Carriage 17 - the oldest carriage on the original railway - were organised over the weekend. The veteran carriage shuttled across the original bridge on Sunday afternoon, with the construction team pausing to enjoy the sight for the last time.

After nearly 100 years, the Old Lidingö Bridge will be removed and replaced by Little Lidingö Bridge, providing local communities with a multi-modal active travel connection between Lidingö and the mainland. The pedestrian and cycle path was opened in October 2022 and the tram link will follow in late Spring 2023.
