Miguel Escallon back at The AA
29 July 2019
Bridge Designer Miguel Escallon was excited to back at his alma mater, The Architectural Association, tutoring this year's group of summer school students. The 2019 Summer ‘DLAB’ programme paired advanced computational design and analysis with large-scale prototyping techniques in order to create innovative, new forms of architecture.
Following the design phase, Miguel was excited to be a part of the physical experimentation and creation of a 1:1 scale prototype, created using Single Point Incremental Sheet Forming (SPIF) and robotic fabrication techniques. The aim is to integrate form-finding, material computation and structural performance to explore the possibilities of cutting edge twenty-first century architectural methods.
