New book encourages you to rethink bridges and bridge construction
14 December 2020
Just published this month, under the hugely respected DETAIL imprint, is BRÜCKEN: Potenziale und Perspektiven. Written by engineers Thorsten Helbig, Michael Kleiser and Ludolf Krontal, with a foreword by Martin Knight, the book provides insights into the world of bridge building, with essays covering history, the intricacies of material selection, structural typologies and implementation.
The authors have selected a wide range of impressive projects, including Knight Architects' Lower Hatea River Crossing, that illustrate how the gap between technology, aesthetics and bold, innovative solutions can be successfully bridged.
