New Pooley Bridge on shortlist for NIC Design Principles Award

New Pooley Bridge continues to garner attention in award programmes and the British Construction Industry Awards are no different. The project has been shortlisted in no fewer than three categories, including the unique NIC Design Principles Award.

Much celebrated within the local community already, this exemplar infrastructure project addresses resilience and the climate emergency through intelligent use of design and materiality; it speaks directly to the aspirations of the local community following meaningful public engagement; enriches the Lake District environment through the creation of a high-quality public space; and, importantly, adds social and economic value to a community hard-hit by the loss of its original crossing in 2015.
