New Pooley Bridge takes prize at Structural Steel Design Awards

In the beautiful surroundings of Spitalfields Venue Christchurch (London), Hector Beade and Laura Langridge were absolutely delighted to join the whole design team on stage and take home a Structural Steel Design Award for their Lake District crossing.

The replacement bridge was only one of four projects to secure an award, which recognises the high standard of structural and architectural design attainable in the use of steel. The UK's first structural stainless steel road bridge was praised by the judges for its "ingenuity, innovation and beauty".
