Ordsall Chord wins RIBA National Award
27 June 2019
Having secured several RIBA North West Awards earlier this spring, we were absolutely thrilled that Ordsall Chord - a vital new rail connection between Piccadilly, Oxford Road and Victoria Stations in Manchester - has been subsequently honoured with a RIBA National Award.
Knight Architects worked with the AECOM Mott MacDonald JV in order to deliver BDP’s original design, ensuring that the construction methodology and detailing is in keeping with their original concept, emphasizing the River Irwell Span as a new landmark whilst acknowledging the historic sensitivity of Stevenson’s Bridge nearby.
