Water Street Bridge Open to Public

On a crisp January morning we finally got to see our new bridge for Canary Wharf in use and then lifted. Located at the south-east corner of the Canary Wharf estate, the 36m-long Water Street Bridge - when in its lowered position in its lowered position provides seamless passage for pedestrians and cars beneath the striking architecture of the surrounding towers.

The geometry of the steel lifting span folds back into the approaches and abutments with a confident yet understated appearance. All structure and operating mechanisms remain hidden below deck level, creating an open, shared space for users.
