Project Overview
As part of a 1.5 billion investment by the government to improve and widen the A14 between Cambridge and Huntingdon, Knight Architects were appointed to design two ‘Landmark Structures’ that will define the Gateway into Cambridge.
The bridges promote a sustainable model for development and will link new communities to the Cambridge cycle network and bus routes into the City.
The bridges share a ‘family’ of characteristics that establish a clear and unique identity for the Cambridge corridor.
Throughout the project Knight Architects have led a consultation process with the public and other stakeholders groups, creating support for the bridges and wider project.
Construction is scheduled to begin in 2017.
